Balloonist John Ross turns hobby to business

From 2,000 feet over the Fox Cities, we take in the green, lush fields, the vast sparkling lakes and the neat grid of Wisconsin highways and roads. The world literally swirls around us, like a 360-degree movie. All is quiet and serene … until the pilot in our balloon blasts a burst of hot air skyward. We rise ever higher.

“On a clear day, you can see the top of Door County, Lake Winnebago all the way to Fond du Lac, Lake Michigan and even Rib Mountain,” John Ross, pilot of the balloon “Fun”tastic, shouts over the din of the blast.
